Sienna at 6 months

Sienna turned six months on the 8th, and her transition from baby to little girl has really been apparent this past month. In her visit yesterday, she weighed in at 14 lbs 4.5 ounces and 25 1/4 inches long. She’s mastered rolling over to the point that we are now much more careful about putting her down anywhere. She spends more time on her tummy, usually propping herself up to look around or to play with her toys. She’s much more aware of her surroundings and now tries to grab at everything that catches her attention. She reaches for toys, food, fingers, and hair. The sweet thing is that she is now more touchy; I notice she usually tries to touch her brothers whenever they’re next to each other but I guess that’s because her kuyas can always make her smile.

Sienna also spends more time on her exersaucer, probably because she’s discovered how the toys work. Now, she’s able to turn some pages, pull on some toys to make music and can make things spin. Her exersaucer has also helped her strengthen a lot of her muscles as she’s now able to sit and stand assisted. The pediatrician says she’ll probably be sitting by herself within the next month.

The last major change is that she’s started her journey of solid foods. The week we got back from Canada, we started her on Milupa rice cereal and we’re slowly trying to increase how much she’ll eat and then soon we’ll introduce veggies and fruits. Though it’s nice that she’ll depend less and less on me for food, it’s a little sad to know that my little baby is growing up so fast.

On a side note, it also makes me wonder what Hong will say when I say I have no more baby. Usually when I ask him where my baby Hong went, he smiles at me and says he’s a big boy now. Then when I say I miss baby Hong, he tells me, “Mom, you have a baby.. Mui Mui!” Haha.. I wonder if he’ll approve another baby or whether he’ll still say no more babies.
